For the past 30 or so years, I have been a dedicated collector of iconic news photos, Pulitzer Prize winning photographs, and 20th Century Fine Art Photography. After purchasing several newspaper archives, my collection grew to over 10,000 photos covering 20th century world affairs in politics, the military, and social reform. The scope of the collection runs from the turn of the last century (1900- Gallipoli, Boer war, Mexican War) through WWI, The Great Depression, WWII, Korea, Cold War, Vietnam, Civil Rights movement, through the fall of the Berlin Wall and the break-up of Yugoslavia and the Balkan War in the early 1990’s. The bulk of this collection was acquired by the Dolph Briscoe Center for American History at the University of Texas at Austin.
Photos from my collection have been exhibited in the “Exposed” show at SFMOMA by Sandy Phillips, the “Faking It” show at the Met by Mia Fineman, the “War/Photography” show at MFAH by Anne Wilkes Tucker, and in "A Collective Invention: Photographs at Play" by Joel Smith at the JPMorgan Museum, among others.
I continue to Collect, Buy, Sell and Trade Photographs.
